Oncology Massage is a client specific massage that is modified to meet the unique and changing needs of someone in treatment for cancer or has a history of cancer. A key part of oncology massage is to offer a safe and effective massage while understanding cancer related side effects. Massages are adjusted to an individual’s current condition, treatment plan and side effects. Scar therapy can also be beneficial.
Oncology massage aims to initiate the Relaxation Response, with relaxation we achieve a greater sense of physical and mental ease that allows us to let go of muscle tension.
