Feel more comfortable, capable and confident as you get back to what matters

An injury can change the way everyday life feels. Whether it resulted from a fall, accident, fracture, wound, traumatic event or sporting incident, you may be left with swelling, bruising, stiffness, sensitivity, a scar or uncertainty about how to move with confidence again.

At Sano, Zoe Porter provides one-to-one, complementary support to help you feel more comfortable in your body as you recover. Care is shaped around your symptoms, your stage of healing and the things you want to get back to—whether that is work, sport, parenting, walking the dog or simply moving without constantly thinking about the injury.

This support may be useful if you are recovering from:

  • A sports injury, such as a sprain, strain or impact injury

  • A fracture, fall, accident or other traumatic injury

  • Ongoing swelling, bruising, heaviness or tissue discomfort after injury

  • A healed scar resulting from an injury, surgery or wound repair

  • Tightness, sensitivity or reduced movement that is affecting daily life

  • The transition back to activity, work or sport after medical treatment or rehabilitation

You do not need to know which treatment you need before you book. Zoe will listen to what has happened, understand the advice you have already received and help you decide whether Sano can be a useful part of your recovery.

Support that changes with your recovery

What helps early on may be different from what you need weeks or months later. Your treatment is adapted as your body heals and your goals change.

When swelling and discomfort are getting in the way

Once it is medically appropriate, gentle Manual Lymphatic Drainage may be used to help manage swelling, heaviness and discomfort following injury. Lymphatic taping or practical self-care guidance may also be considered where appropriate.

When your body feels tight, sensitive or restricted

As tissues settle, gentle soft-tissue, fascial and scar therapy techniques may help with comfort, sensitivity and tissue mobility. This can be especially helpful when a healed scar, impact injury or period of reduced movement is making everyday activity feel difficult.

When you are ready to get moving again

Recovery is not only about the injured area. It is about feeling confident enough to use your body again. Zoe can support you with practical strategies that fit alongside your physiotherapy, exercise or rehabilitation plan, helping you build confidence in the movements and activities that matter to you.

Working alongside your healthcare team

Sano care is designed to complement—not replace—your medical and rehabilitation care. With your consent, Zoe can work alongside your GP, physiotherapist, surgeon, sports doctor, occupational therapist, ACC provider or other healthcare professional.

Your treating clinician remains responsible for diagnosis, treatment planning and any clearance to return to sport, work or other activities. If you have new or unexpected pain, swelling, numbness, weakness or other changes, please contact them promptly.

Your first appointment

Your first appointment is a chance to talk about your injury, the symptoms you are experiencing now and what you would most like to feel able to do again. Zoe will assess your tissues, movement, sensitivity and recovery goals, then work with you on the most appropriate next step.

Bring any scan results, rehabilitation plans, discharge information or questions that will help Zoe understand your recovery. You do not need to have everything worked out before you arrive.
